The axiomatic treatment of finite projective and affine planes, the existence problem, coordinatization of finite planes, translation planes. Higher dimensional spaces, collineations and polarities. Arcs, ovals, conics, the theorem of Segre. quadrics, Hermitian varieties, generalized quadrangles, inversive planes. Blocking sets, the Redei-polynomial. Applications of finite geometries to coding theory, cryptography and graph theory.
